The name Seven Stars does not refer to seven herbs, but instead honours the sacred Pleiades star system, known as the ‘Seven Sisters.’ The Pleiades hold great significance in the ancestral mythology of many indigenous Amazonian groups, including the Nukini. Although the specific stories and interpretations vary, the Pleiades are often associated with feminine mythology, mythical journeys, nature connection, and ancestral connection. Xiti Nukini shares that Seven Stars is an excellent medicine to connect with our ancestors.
In many of these stories, the Pleiades are known as ‘the women of the sky,’ tied to agriculture, fertility, and spiritual guidance. While each tribe’s myth differs, the themes of flight, transformation, and return are common and sacred.
